Filling Propane Forklift Cylinder Training

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to safely exchange cylinders on propane-powered equipment, including forklifts, ice resurfacing machines, and motorized elevating work platforms.

Training covers key topics such as relevant legislation, applicable codes and standards, and the role of the authority having jurisdiction. Participants will learn about the properties of propane, cylinder components, purging procedures, and proper identification through cylinder markings. The course also includes instruction on pre-fill inspections, filling by weight and volume, and specific procedures for filling forklift cylinders. A practical hands-on portion included.

Additional topics include signage requirements, emergency preparedness, and the application of WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations as they relate to propane cylinder handling.
